GPPMA, Dubai Knowledge Village, SUKAD FZ-LLC in partnership with Technip is delighted to invite you to a free evening seminar From Failure to Success, Learning from two Mega Petrochemical Projects where the presentation will highlight best practices that could have helped the troubled project, and those that did help the successful project. We will also touch on project management maturity of the clients organizations involved in both projects.

From Failure To Success, Learning From Two Mega Petrochemical Projects

Projects in the oil and gas, especially megaprojects, are very interesting and impressive yet challenging. In this presentation, the speaker will discuss two mega projects from his own past personal experience. The two projects had many common factors yet they have contrasting circumstances and outcomes.

The two projects are:

A successful project from Southeast Asia
A troubled or challenged project from the United States
The first project was a joint venture; so was the second.

from-failure-to-success Both projects are megaprojects, since they would be in the range of 1-3 billion US dollars in today's market. The first project was under a cost reimbursable/incentive contract. The second project was a fixed-price contract. Although, we will not provide the names of the involved organizations (clients and contractors), the speaker will still share a great deal of information.

Mr. Ajam is a senior professional with 21 years of experience in the engineering, construction, petroleum, and the project management industries.
In 1998 he achieved the internationally recognized Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential.
In 2007 he graduated from the Project Management Institute (PMI®) prestigious Leadership Institute Masters Class.
He is currently serving on the 2008 PMI EMEA Congress Project Action Team (CoPAT)
He is an International Correspondent for PMForum and PMWorldToday, two leading web portals dedicated to promoting project management.
He has published articles on promoting the field of project management for Construction Weekly, Dubai Quality Group, and other publications.
He has published numerous professional papers and presented at many international conferences and events in Europe, USA, Asia, and the Middle East.
