From Failure To Success, Learning From Two Mega Petrochemical Projects
Projects in the oil and gas, especially megaprojects, are very interesting and impressive yet challenging. In this presentation, the speaker will discuss two mega projects from his own past personal experience. The two projects had many common factors yet they have contrasting circumstances and outcomes.
The two projects are:
- A successful project from Southeast Asia
- A troubled or challenged project from the United States
- The first project was a joint venture; so was the second.
Both projects are megaprojects, since they would be in the range of 1-3 billion US dollars in today's market. The first project was under a cost reimbursable/incentive contract. The second project was a fixed-price contract. Although, we will not provide the names of the involved organizations (clients and contractors), the speaker will still share a great deal of information.
