Well-known Qatari artist Yousef Ahmed is participating once again in Art Dubai, organised in Madinat Jumeirah in the UAE over March 18-21.

The exhibition includes a collection of the most prominent art pieces created by some of the most important artists from different parts of the region and the world.

Several works by Yousef Ahmed will be displayed during the event, all expressing the high feelings of this Arab artist. The beauty and precision of his work has brought him to international prominence and is gaining increasing attention and interest from art lovers and collectors, both Arabs and foreigners.

This is not the first time that Yousef Ahmed participates in Art Dubai, as he had displayed other paintings in previous showings, all of which gained attention from the event's visitors. He has been chosen for Art Dubai because of his leading role in introducing Qatari art, driving attention to it, and introducing Qatari artists to the world, all of which have led to giving the arts movement in Qatar more interest.

Yousef Ahmed's paintings are characterised by their precision, clarity and depth of meaning, all expressed through the colours and materials used and their comprehensive integration. Most of his paintings revolve around the Arabic letter and reflect the beauty and harmony of this letter in the word and language in general and its importance in the development of humanity.

Yousef Ahmed is considered a leader in painting based on Arabic letters. He focuses on the deep visual conversation that characterises these letters, based on their huge artistic power and which take different form of the visual shape than is usually known.

Commenting on his participation once again in the event in collaboration with Art Space Gallery in Dubai, Yousef Ahmed said: "Art Dubai is one of the most important art and cultural events in the Middle East where the best art works of top leading artists from the region and the world gather under one roof to form a special artistic festival that highlights the beauty of great art in an innovative and creative environment not existent anywhere else in the whole region."

Art Dubai aims to highlight the Dubai government's commitment to developing the art scene in the UAE and its continuous work to position the emirate as a commercial hub specialising in artworks.

"I am happy to be one of the artists whose paintings were chosen to be displayed once again in Art Dubai, and it is a great honour to me to be part of this international gathering. According to me, this is considered as a respect for Qatari art which is now gaining importance regionally and internationally," said Ahmed.

"I would like in this occasion to highlight the uniqueness of Qatari and Gulf art in general which reflects the deep feelings that regional artists have and which they picture in art pieces rich in profound significance."

In addition to Art Dubai, Yousef Ahmed has participated in several art exhibitions around the world where the best of his work was displayed. This has led to auctions of some of them by Christies and Sotheby's, reflecting the increasing stature that the artist is gaining as one of the most important figures of contemporary art in Qatar and the region.

Art Dubai is charecterised by displaying many of the most important paintings and modern and contemporary sculpture pieces that are displayed or sold in some of the most prominent regional and international art galleries. This event forms the biggest collection of modern and contemporary art pieces in one exhibition in the Middle East.
