The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority is bringing back the highly popular ArtBus Dubai to connect the various art venues during the third edition of Art Dubai that opens in the Emirate from 19th March 2009.

art-bus-march-2009Saeed Al Nabouda, Chief Events and Projects Manager of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, pointed out that: "Art Dubai has come to be a celebration of creativity, talent, beauty, wonder and aesthetic fulfillment. It is that time of the year when emerging talent can find a platform to showcase itself and for art aficionados to receive a taste of their work and that of established masters from all corners of the globe.

"Art Dubai has grown into a major city-wide art extravaganza. The third edition of the contemporary art fair is even bigger as Art Dubai coincides with this year's Sharjah Biennial and selected shows at galleries around Dubai. With so many art events and venues, the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority finds that the role of the ArtBus is even more important in ferrying art lovers thus connecting all points of the Dubai's creative scene," Al Nabouda explained.

The ArtBus was started as a means to get art lovers around the industrial arts area of Al Quoz during Art Dubai 2007, and is now a regular feature at Art Dubai editions. The colourful bus will shuttle participants and visitors of Art Dubai across the city's various galleries as well as the Bastakiya arts quarter and DIFC's Gate Village, including some of Dubai's latest creative spaces - Art Sawa, Ayyam Gallery and Basement.

The ArtBus will have guides dedicated to ensuring a well informed, wholesome experience of the art world, throughout the day where passengers will get to experience everything from urban to contemporary and classic art. The ArtBus will be stocked with refreshments and will also make scheduled lunch stops at either the Courtyard in Al Quoz or at DIFC's Gate Village.
